NexCore Group supplies healthcare providers with a strategy-based approach that integrates and enhances medical practice business plans and strategies. We look at strategy first, then wrap healthcare real estate around it.
We’re excited to announce our third ground break of 2011, an 80,000 square foot medical office building on the campus of Saint Agnes Hospital (a member of Ascension Health) in Baltimore.
The four-story MOB will be connected to the hospital on multiple levels and will have its own patient-dedicated surface parking. The facility will house independent and hospital-employed physician groups as well as growing hospital programs such as the Cancer Institute and Cardiovascular Institute. The Cancer Institute at Saint Agnes was recently awarded the highest accreditation possible for a cancer program from the Commission on Cancer, an accreditation level that has been bestowed on only 14 percent of the nation’s hospitals.
In the dynamic and ultra-competitive healthcare business, hospital and health system executives are challenged more than ever to look for ways to cut costs, free up capital, and earn the highest returns on the dollars they invest and spend. Third-party ownership of hospital outpatient care facilities is an avenue that can not only achieve these monetary goals but also enhance the recruitment of and return on human capital.
In the following video, NexCore’s Chief Investment Officer Peter Kloepfer discusses the growing need of hospitals and health systems to monetize their non-core real estate assets and what it takes to be a truly effective third-party owner of hospital-sponsored facilities. As Peter emphasizes in the video, “It takes more than just money to be successful on a hospital campus.”
